DANCE your way to HEALTH!

Dance is an art which refers to movement of the body. It’s an excellent way of exercise. With the popularity of TV shows like Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance?, more people have become interested in dance and it’s good.

There are many health benefits of dance.

#1 Prevents chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, ischemic heart disease.

#2 Reduces stress, tension.

#3 Improves strength of muscles.

#4 Better co-ordination and improved balance.

#5 Increases your stamina and tones your body.

#6 Helps lose weight.

Besides, it’s an excellent medium for social interaction. You get to meet new people at dance classes. It also makes you happier and improves your self-esteem. Also, it reduces chances of a sedentary lifestyle (which is a risk factor for hypertension and diabetes).

Any form of exercise is good. It need not be the ones we see on TV shows, it can be simple ones like aerobic exercise as well. Even a minimum of 30 minutes of dancing everyday is enough to attain the above mentioned benefits. And always remember that age is no barrier for dancing.

So, get grooving.
