Prevent BIRD FLU

Bird flu (also known as avian influenza) is a disease causes by influenza virus, mainly seen in birds. Researchers have suggested that there is a co-existence of human flu viruses and bird flu viruses which may lead to exchange of genetic material between the species. This can create a new virus which may be lethal to humans.

The common symptoms of bird flu are:

#1 Fever

#2 Sore throat

#3 Muscle pain

#4 Headache

#5 Chest pain and breathing difficulty

Keep in Mind:

#1 In case there is an outbreak, it is essential that you wear protective gear and practice measures to prevent yourself from getting affected by it.

#2 Humans are generally infected while slaughtering or handling diseases birds. In short, birds that are diseased should never be consumed.

#3 In areas where bird flu isn’t common, it is safe to eat chicken and other poultry products.

#4 It is necessary to separate raw meat from cooked meat.

#5 Never use the same chopping board or same knife for raw meat and other packaged meat.

#6 Always wash your hands before use.

#7 Cook thoroughly.

#8 Eggs should not be consumed raw or partially cooked.

Bird flu vaccines are being produced. The vaccine was purchased by the federal government of the US. It is a measure to safeuard against the possible spread of the disease.
