Driving hiccups away
You must have surely experienced a hiccup at some point of your life. It gets annoying when it is not relieved.
Hiccups are mainly caused due to eating too fast, burping or eating spicy food. It can also occur as a side-effect of treatment for cancer.
Tips:
1) Hold your breath. Take a deep breath and hold it.
2) Breathe into a paper bag.
3) Repeated swallowing.
4) Drink water.
5) Apply pressure over your eyes with your fingers.
6) Take a teaspoon of honey.
7) Eat a slice of lemon.
Trivia:
In 2006, Francis M Fresmire of the University of Tennesse College of Medicine was given a Nobel Prize for demonstrating “rectal massage was a cure for intractable hiccups”.
