I just got fired. Now what?

Published by dratiffarid under Uncategorized Edit This

I just got fired!

It’s very important to learn how to handle yourself once you get fired. Always remember that once you are fired, you have to bounce back otherwise it can adversely affect your health.

#1 Grieve, of course! But that’s not it. You have to move on. Get all the negative thoughts out of your system. Make a list of why you hated the job and just let it go. As the saying goes: “There’s no use in crying over spilled milk.”

#2 Make your resume. I’m sure you would have one already made for your previous job, just make sure you have all the documents in hand. In a lot of my posts, I stress on the word - planning. It is very important.

#3 Let everyone know that you are available. Don’t the keep the news of you getting fired a secret. There’s no point. In fact if you tell your friends, they might be able to help you with job opportunities. You can then choose the best job suitable for you. It increases your chances of getting a job that you like.

#4 Communicate and socialize with others. Build ties with people at parties or even at common places like the gym etc. It will surely help.

#5 Be serious about your job hunt and treat it as a full-time job. Spend time on looking for job opportunities and always be alert and informed.

Hope these help. If anyone has any other valuable tips, I would love to read them. Please post in the Comments Section below. It will help others as well.
