Heart attack at 30 years
I have a few more months before I complete my course. I haven’t really been able to reduce weight but I’m very particular about what I eat. The force that drives me is that I don’t want to get a heart attack when I’m 30 years old.
Here are some of the points I keep in mind.
#1 I usually order food from outside. I make sure that I don’t eat rice for both meals.
#2 It’s good to know that some restaurants give an outrageous amount of food. So, it’s best to eat half and put the rest in the refrigerator and eat it the next day. There’s no need to finish all the food at one go.
#3 If you do not want to eat the food the other day, it’s always best to share food with your friends or family. I can never finish a medium pizza from Dominoes, so I make sure I have a friend who will share it with me.
#4 Watch what you eat! I don’t eat chips at all. I try and limit cheese, burgers as well as fries.
#5 Whenever I go grocery shopping, I make sure that I buy fresh fruit juices and NOT aerated drinks. If I buy an aerated drink and keep it in my refrigerator, I’m always tempted to drink it. So, I avoid buying it.
#6 I drink a lot of water. At least 1-2 liters per day. It helps keep my system clean.
#7 I don’t believe in the ALL or NONE rule. I make sure that I eat 3 meals a day. I’ve noticed that skipping meals doesn’t help as at some point of time, I’m fully saturated (or frustrated) and end up eating a lot. So, I believe in eating small frequent meals.
#8 I don’t drink alcohol neither do I smoke. So, that’s in my favor.
