Why some people never fall sick?
Have you always admired your co-workers who never fall sick? How is it that they are able to maintain good health throughout the year? How do they manage in the cold?
It’s not that hard! Here are some easy ways which will help you boost your immunity.
#1 Exercise regularly. As I’ve mentioned in a lot of my previous posts, you don’t need to go the gym. Walking for 30 minutes everyday helps too. Dancing is a good form of exercise too.
#2 Quit smoking and decrease your alcohol intake. Both of these are important risk factors for a variety of diseases especially heart diseases and diabetes.
#3 Avoid stressful situations. Constant worrying increases your cortisol and epinephrine levels which will weaken your immunity.
#4 Eating an apple everyday is good too. Apples contain anti-oxidants which boost your immunity.
#5 Increase your vitamin intake. Multi-vitamin tablets are always good. If that’s not possible, drink a glass of orange juice everyday. Orange juice contains Vitamin C which is an anti-oxidant too.
#6 A research paper published in Chicago showed that gargling everyday with an antiseptic mouthwash and brushing your teeth regularly helped ward off some illnesses. Poor oral hygiene was associated with diseases like diabetes.
#7 You must wash your hands before and after eating. Also, wash your hands when switching to another activity. I always wash my hands after I use my laptop. Even though I keep my laptop clean, some germs might still be there.
#8 Sleep well. 7-8 hours of sleep is good. At night, melatonin levels increase which improves immunity.
#9 Improve your social ties. In a study conducted in the UK, it was shown that people who have more diverse social networks are less likely to get heart disease.
#10 Always be positive. Be happy, calm and enthusiastic.
